Pediatric dentistry at IODENT clinic
The first visit to a pediatric dentist is recommended at the age of 1.5 - 2 years. By this time, the child usually has a complete set of primary teeth, and the dentist has the opportunity to detect any abnormalities and prevent their further development. This is an important step in ensuring dental health and proper development of the dental and jaw system in the future.
Our clinic utilizes the most advanced materials and cutting-edge technologies to provide the best results and minimize discomfort during treatment.

Treatment of primary and permanent teeth
Some parents believe that treating primary teeth is not necessary since they will eventually fall out and be replaced by permanent teeth. However, it is known that the condition of the primary dentition affects the formation of the permanent dentition. Treatment of dental and jaw disorders is necessary for children regardless of their age.
Caries is a common infectious disease that occurs more rapidly in children than in adults. The enamel of baby teeth is thinner, making them more susceptible to caries. Within a few months, caries can penetrate deep into the tooth, causing complete destruction or inflammation. Furthermore, caries can quickly spread to adjacent teeth and negatively impact the development of permanent teeth. Premature loss of teeth due to caries can lead to speech problems and the formation of malocclusion.
The dentists at IODENT clinic recommend that children undergo an examination every six months and, if necessary, have their teeth filled. This process will be painless and comfortable for them thanks to the use of modern technologies.
The main types of filling materials are:
- Photopolymers and composites: characterized by strength and a wide range of shades, allowing for an inconspicuous filling.
- Glass ionomer materials: contain fluoride, which is released over the course of a year after filling, promoting tooth protection against caries.
- Composite or colored materials: a combination of photopolymer and glass ionomer cement, specifically designed for baby teeth. Advantages include the child being able to choose the color, safety, fluoride content, and resistance to chewing load.
Prevention of tooth decay
To prevent the occurrence of tooth decay, the following procedures are available:
- Dental sealants: This is a simple and completely painless method. It involves applying a special paste to the chewing surfaces of the teeth to fill in the natural indentations of the tooth (fissures). This prevents the accumulation of plaque in those areas.
- Fluoride treatment: During this procedure, a thin layer of fluoride varnish is applied to the enamel, creating a protective film that shields the teeth against decay.
- Deep remineralization: This method involves the application of a special substance containing fluoride, calcium, magnesium, and other minerals to the teeth. It penetrates the enamel, promoting its protection and restoration.
- Tooth fluoridation: This method strengthens the enamel using special solutions. These solutions are gradually applied to the teeth, leading to the formation of unique crystals. By penetrating through microfractures inside the enamel, they remain there for several months, providing protection against bacteria.
Correction of bite in children
Malocclusion, or an improper bite, has not only aesthetic but also medical consequences as it can lead to problems with the oral cavity, respiratory system, and digestive system.
Signs of malocclusion include:
- Protrusion or retrusion of certain teeth
- Inability to properly close the jaws
- Large gaps between teeth
- Uneven alignment of teeth
- Teeth appearing in the second row
Modern orthodontics offers effective methods for correcting such problems, including:
- Orthodontic plates
- Orthodontic appliances
- Braces
The choice of a specific method for each child is made individually by the orthodontist after conducting an examination and diagnosis.
