Indications for surgical treatment
Indications for surgical treatment include:
- Removal of damaged, infected, or irreparable teeth.
- Treatment or removal of bone formations such as cysts or granulomas.
- Correction of dental or jaw anomalies such as asymmetry, crowding, or absence of teeth.
- Treatment of gingivitis or periodontitis that may require removal of damaged tissue.
- Restoration of bone tissue after injury or disease.
Modern dental surgery aims not only to remove teeth but also to restore and preserve their functions.
Before deciding on surgical treatment, the dentist always conducts a thorough examination and diagnosis to understand the problem and find the optimal treatment option for each individual patient.

What surgical dentistry services do we provide?
At IODENT dental clinic, you can receive a wide range of services in dental surgery, which includes advanced and minimally invasive techniques that ensure painlessness and effectiveness in treating and removing teeth.
Painless removal (extraction) is performed when a tooth:
- Has caused an inflammatory reaction in the bone tissue.
- Is damaged to the extent that it cannot be restored.
- Has become excessively loose due to advanced periodontitis.
- Has fractured into several pieces.
- Is in an improper position that causes soft tissue trauma.
- Needs to make room for orthodontic braces.
Removal of soft and hard tissue growths from the tooth
Removal of soft and hard tissue growths from the tooth using instruments for tumor removal or laser technology. Laser surgery allows for precise and rapid removal of growths, minimizes bleeding, and reduces the risk of infection. This allows for the removal of growths that pose a threat to health, such as cysts or abscesses.
Tooth-saving procedures:
Root apex resection - a procedure where a surgeon removes an infected part of the tooth root while preserving the tooth and preventing further damage to healthy tissues.
Gingival tissue grafting - is used to treat gum recession and other defects. During the procedure, the doctor transplants tissue from the palate to the area with the gum defect to prevent tooth loss and restore soft tissues.
Open (with a flap) and closed (without a flap) curettage of periodontal pockets - deep cleaning of the space between the gums and the tooth roots to remove calculus, microorganisms, and food debris.

Growing hard dental tissues
Growing hard dental tissues using Swiss Geistlich bone substitute materials:
Alveoloplasty - a surgical procedure that corrects defects in the shape of the alveolar ridge or alveolar part of the jaw.
Guided tissue regeneration - a technology for increasing bone volume using special preparations and membranes that help restore bone tissue.
Sinus lifting - an operation that increases the volume of bone tissue before implantation. Depending on the amount of bone tissue, the doctor performs closed or open sinus lifting.
Frenuloplasty (frenectomy)
It's a surgical intervention to correct speech and jaw development problems by correcting the frenulum of the lips and tongue.
